Milk thistle typically grows in warm climates including the Mediterranean. In the first century, Greek physician Dioscorides valued milk thistle’s healthful properties. This plant and its seeds have been used traditionally for centuries. NAC has been used since the 1960s to help loosen mucus. According to records, the Chinese have been using dandelion root in their herbal preparations for more than 2,000 years. The Arabs and Europeans have also enjoyed its health benefits.
